I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Ho. She is thorough but efficient and pays careful attention to patients’ individual needs. Her assistants and the front desk staff are generally very good as well. (One staff member tested me incorrectly several years ago, but I have not seen her since.) The facility is cramped and a bit worn-looking, but that does not seem to affect the level of care so far. I highly recommend Dr. Ho.

I would cautiously recommend this institution. The staff is well coordinated and professional. Fortunately, my diagnosis was found early, less than 6 months from the time symptoms were noted, to the point of diagnosis, and surgery is. When the surgeon says that 90% of macular hole surgeries are successful if detected early and at a young age, both as in my case, you trust them. However, other MAJOR factors were not revealed. Such as the risks related to such a serious surgery. Nor was the information revealed by the surgery coordinator. In fact, I had to return to the office to sign consent as they had forgotten that piece of information!

My macular hole did not close, my visual acuity is worsening due to a surgically induced cataract which I will have to have corrected. My current vision in my affected eye is 20/200. This is considered legally blind and I am totally left eye dependent now.

If you are a novice in this area, I would recommend you ask multiple questions. Do yourself a favor and research thoroughly! And get a second opinion.
