A hotel turned into a hostel, which is very conviniently located to the famous Kasar Devi temple and fairly close to the famos cafes of the place. The hostel mostly has wooden structure and the bunk beds in dorms are neat and tidy. The staff is supportive and helpful. Though the room could do with better upkeep interms of fresh paints and cleaner carpets.||The hostel needs a little bit of upgradation and maintanance to keep the vibe alive. ||The common areas are nice, in the ground floor and artic, however the inhouse restaurant operational hours are little odd for travelers and you need to find your morning & evening cup of tea/coffee around the hostel, which has limited options. The food served is mostly nice and fresh, though the prices are little on the higher side for a hostel.||The hostel does not have any kitchette, washing machine or place to hang clothes, which comes handy for backpackers and solo travelers. ||The location is adjacent to a busy road so not really in the middle of nature. The wifi available is average, but you have ample space to work if you are in a workation.

I stayed here yesterday on my way back from Almora and it was nice and comfortable. I stayed in the 10 bed dorm and the roommates were fine and I had a wonderful experience with wonderful service and on time check in offered. The staff also told me there is a nice view of the sunrise from the common balcony early in the morning but unfortunately I overslept. Maybe they can do more in terms of activities like a walking tour of the area or movie night. Other than that I had a nice experience and I also got a chance to meet new people like Robert

Great location, beautiful surrounding atmosphere, great staff. Most friendly and helpful receptionist and staff ever, lovely and great first impression of hotel. Everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service in where we had dinner. Food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable.

I had an incredible stay at Hosteller Kasar Devi, The staff were warm and welcoming, the rooms were cozy and clean, and the views of the Himalayas were simply breathtaking. The ||Hostels Atmosphere was perfect for meeting new friends. The food was delicious and the amenities were top-notch. Our stay at Hostler Kasar Devi was a complete disaster. We were misled by the beautiful photos online, only to be greeted with unsanitary conditions upon arrival. Four rooms lacked running water, and the toilets were barely functional. The promised balconies were off-limits, adding to our disappointment.||The staff's unprofessionalism was shocking. Despite completing online check-in and providing our IDs, we were not checked in promptly. We only received the check-in email after leaving for another hotel due to the deplorable conditions. The property manager and GM's dismissive attitude and refusal to address our concerns were appalling. They even blamed their incompetence on "corporate workings," which is unacceptable, especially when dealing with foreign guests.||The lack of basic amenities, unsafe balcony situation, and the staff's indifference made our stay extremely unpleasant. This is not the kind of experience you want for your family, especially with young children and elderly members.||We strongly advise against booking at Hostler Kasar Devi. There are many other options in the area that prioritize guest comfort and hygiene. Don't waste your time and money on this disappointing establishment.

One of the nicest hostels in Kasar. A chill vibes with an awesome staff who are helpful and attentive. They know the area well and recommend good places to hangout. This place is definitely recommended and I will go back here whenever I can. It's not a family place though.

I recently stayed at the Hosteller, Kasar Devi and had a deeply distressing experience that I feel compelled to share to warn other travelers, especially women. During my stay in a 10-bed mixed dorm, three guests, who were intoxicated, engaged in highly inappropriate behavior. One of them entered my sleeping area, invaded my personal space, and refused to leave despite my repeated demands.I reported the incident immediately, but the response from the hostel management was shockingly inadequate. They were unprofessional, claimed they were unsure how to handle the situation, and allowed these guests to remain in the dorm. This lack of accountability and disregard for guest safety is unacceptable. This experience has left me traumatized and I no longer feel safe booking mixed dorms at any hostel. I had to book a private room at my own expense due to the unsafe environment created by the management's inaction.

I urge to take this matter seriously, enforce their own policies, and provide proper training to staff on handling such incidents. As a guest, I have the right to feel safe and secure, and this was not upheld during my stay.

Until there is clear evidence of policy changes and staff training to handle such incidents appropriately, I strongly advise other travelers to consider their safety before booking with this hostel.
