I highly recommend for a social (or not if you prefer) vibe with lots to do nearby! My mom, brother, and I stayed here this September, and it was exactly what we hoped! A beautiful walking trail is right out the back door, the river steps away, e bike rentals close by, a hot tub on the upper floor, a common kitchen where we could cook. Trivia nights, Latin nights, good energy, good people.. it was a really great spot! The rooms were nice enough, and I thought the beds were comfy. They have individual little reading lights by the beds and charging ports for everyone. We shared a room that had a bunk and queen, and everyone did really well. The place is safe and secure, clean, well kept.. water is out any time and fresh coffee in the mornings. I'm a huge hostel guy, and I never do hostels in the states cause they're expensive or just not cool, but The Pad hit all the marks! About 12 minute drive to Breckenridge and very close to the lake. You can walk there in an hour or e bike it in minutes.. so many cool things to do, amazing views, great sitting area in the back.. I recommend it for your visit

Before I say anything else, RICKY IS AWESOME!!! She was knowledgeable and very helpful from the first phone call to checking in and saying hi every time we cross paths. She is very friendly and deserves all the kudos.

I loved my stay here. Due to a construction project going sideways I was told last minute I had to be out of my place for 5 days. The staff (particularly Ricky) were able to accommodate me and made a stressful situation easy.

Every staff member I came in contact with was friendly, welcoming and happy to help.

I really loved all the little lounge areas where I could be inside working but with all the windows it didn't feel like I was stuck inside. It was fun to explore the different spots.

The rooms were very clean which is usually a dealbreaker for me and had all of the essentials. If you're looking for luxury this isn't necessarily the place, but it's so cute and I loved my stay here.

I needed a dog-friendly room on a whim. I called and was given clear information about the cost and what to expect. I stayed in a private micro room with a private bathroom. It was extremely clean and comfortable for me and my 70-lb golden retriever. I would have been able to still be mostly comfortable if my partner had been there too - would have been tight but doable. Dwayne, the bartender, was extremely kind and personable as well as the front desk hosts. I will most definitely be back!

If I lived in the area and stayed for two nights for a quick ski or snowboarding trip, I think I would have enjoyed it. The hotel has a modern design with a hostel-like vibe, offering a variety of room options for travelers on different budgets, and it had a great social environment. I was excited to discover this place and give it a try.

However, we booked a total of eight nights during ski season and ended up being disappointed by a few things.

We booked the micro room with private bath. Although the room was fairly new, there were several small issues. The window blinds were broken. As a result, we had no natural light, which made the already small room feel even more cramped and claustrophobic. The shower wasn’t stocked when we checked in, and there was no daily room service during our week-long stay. On top of that, the bed was squeaky and uncomfortable and too small, making it hard for two people to sleep comfortably.

None of the above is a deal breaker for us to return.

However, I had a negative experience with the customer service. While most of the staff were friendly, one person(I think her name was Susanna) was particularly rude to me during our stay. I felt uncomfortable anytime she was at the front desk, and I hesitated to approach her with any questions or requests. It made me wonder why someone with such a poor attitude was working in hospitality. After speaking with other guests, some found her friendly, while others shared similar concerns. It felt like she was being selective with whom she was polite, which is a terrible practice for a hospitality setting.

Parking was also an issue. The hotel has limited parking spots, and it's on a first-come, first-served basis. The overflow parking is about a 10-minute walk away, which can be quite inconvenient during freezing winter nights. One night, after 10 PM, we received a text saying we couldn’t park where we had, so we had to move our car to the overflow lot. When we went downstairs, we noticed one car was taking up two spots due to bad parking. We asked the front desk if they could contact the owner of the car to move it, so we wouldn’t have to walk in the cold. However, Susanna was there and she was dismissive and made excuses, saying it would take hours to locate the owner—despite having just contacted us easily through our license plate. It felt like she deliberately didn’t want to help us, forcing us to walk in the cold.

That experience was the last straw for me, and I decided I wouldn’t return for future ski trips, despite the hotel’s potential. I informed the manager of the incident, and while they offered us credit for a future stay, I haven’t received any follow-up email. I am just writing this review now since my stay there nearly 10 months ago.

I visited The Pad with my 6yo. We had a blast! The location can’t be beat. There’s an awesome playground/skate park across the street, cafes were a lovely walk away.
The bar had a selection of NA beers and kombucha.
Our suite was so comfy and clean. Will be back!

I'm so glad I found this place and will definitely return whenever I'm in the area. The location is fantastic! just a short drive from Denver and surrounded by breathtaking mountains and countless stunning trails. The property itself is clean and well-organized, and every staff member I encountered during my 2 days stay was incredibly friendly and helpful. The outdoor hot tub was a perfect way to unwind after a long day of hiking. Highly recommended!

Great spot centric to a lot of activities. Room was clean and staff very friendly. My only feedback is to acquire better quality pillows. Easy fix.
Again, 10/10 loved our stay. Alejandra at the front desk was very welcoming.
